A propos du motif

The center of the gothic rose window of Mende Cathedral (France) show an unusual motif looking like cherries. This central pattern probably dates from the re-building of the rose in the 19th century.

Contenu du cours

This online course in 1 session of 1h45 shares with you the result of my research for a possible construction of this motif using compass and ruler only.

There are 2 levels of tracery on this pattern (and therefor 3 thicknesses add to the core line). In this course you will see in detail how to trace all the levels of thickness for a final result as close as possible to the original design.
